Homework:

  • Read half of Butterfly Hill (MS) or Neruda Odes (HS) for our discussion on November 16 (Here is a two-column version of the Odes if you want them on fewer pages)
  • Watch this video about The Day of the Dead which is celebrated in Latin and South America this week!

  • FOR OUR CRAFT THIS WEEK BRING TO CLASS:
  • A small printed picture (no bigger than 2″ square) of one of your ancestors, preferably one that you knew personally or know a lot about. But any ancestor will do. Cardstock would be ideal but regular printer paper is fine.
  • If you have an altoids/mints tin, small jewelry box, or other small container to class for a craft, bring it!
  • Any small decorative items you might have laying around the house: buttons, beads, silk flowers, ribbon, colorful paper scraps, lace, Washi tape, etc.

High School

  • Read Prisoners of Geography 223-236 (Latin America)
  • Watch Pablo Neruda
